Hobart maintained their unbeaten home stand to start the season as well as their position on top of the South Conference with Mathiang Muo leading them to a big win over Dandenong on the weekend.
The Chargers were 35-point victors and Muo proved the major difference, doubling any Dandenong player’s personal tally with 38 points while also recording five rebounds and an assist.
He was unstoppable at the offensive end, shooting 11-16 from the field which included an outrageous 8-11 mark from the three-point line as he out-scored the Rangers by himself from distance.
Muo also did all his damage in just 25 minutes, an incredibly efficient performance that is helping the Chargers to the second best record in the competition.
Hobart were red-hot as a team through the first half and had opened up a 24-point lead by the main break with Muo kept relatively quiet.
He exploded in the third term though and officially put the Rangers out of reach with a sublime term, scoring 17 points on a perfect 5-5 shooting.
Four of those baskets came from beyond the arc and he did it all within a seven minute window as he rested the final moments of the quarter.
Muo could not keep up his 100% shooting in the final period but still added another 12 points, knocking down 3-5 from the field.
He was also true from the free-throw line and finished the game hitting 8-8 from the charity stripe.
A dominant presence so far in 2017, Muo sits second in the league for points per game (25.4), leads the competition for three-pointers made (40) and is also placed fifth for free-throw percentage (89.3%).
