Our Senior Championship Men’s point guard, Matt Reynolds, has resigned for the Diamond Valley Eagles in 2018 for our return season in the SEABL competition.
Matt’s leadership and ability in the Big V Competition shows that he is more than capable to compete at the SEABL level.
“I am excited to again work with Matt,” SEABL Men’s Head Coach Grant Wallace said.
“He was an important member of the Victorian Gold winning U20 State team in 2011 which I had the privilege to coach. For the past few years he has been the leader of the BigV Diamond Valley men’s team and in 2018 will have the opportunity to finally test his skills and abilities against the best backcourts in the SEABL competition. His uncanny ability to create for himself and most importantly for others combined with his ability to create havoc in the backcourt on defence will prove valuable assets for our Club’s success,”
Matt is coming off a strong 2017 Big V season averaging 14.95 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.18 assists per game. To add to his great scoring numbers he was doing it quite efficiently, shooting 43% from the field and only missing 15 free throws for the season.
“I’m really excited and thankful to be with Diamond Valley for another year,” said Reynolds.
“The board and management have done a huge amount of work behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to be apart of the challenge that awaits with our inaugural SEABL season. I look forward to working towards a successful campaign with Coach Wallace and the rest of the roster.”
