The Nunawading Spectres men’s team have added experienced American big man Dain Swetalla to its roster for the 2017 season.

In search of a pivot partner for Simon Conn, Head Coach Dave Biwer believes he has found the perfect pairing in the 206cm Swetalla who comes to Nunawading with league experience, having previously played with Kilsyth and Frankston.

“Dave had one guy in mind to fill our import spot for this coming season,” Nunawading Basketball Operations Manager, Paul Flynn said.

“Dain comes to Nunawading with a fantastic resume, firsthand knowledge of the SEABL and glowing recommendations in terms of his involvement in the basketball community.

"We’re excited to welcome him into our program and look forward to watching him take the floor with our men’s team this season.”

Swetalla arrived in Melbourne last Tuesday ahead of his Nunawading SEABL commitments.

He appeared in 22 games for Frankston across 2016, contributing 12 points and 10 rebounds per outing for the Blues.

His ability to apply pressure on the boards whilst maintaining great efficiency at both ends of the floor is sure to see the Spectres contend once again this season.
