Mike continues in the role as club Captain which he commenced in 2015 from Mitch Chapman.
The former Junior Blue and state representative, Mike enters his 7th season with the SEABL Blues and after an indifferent 2015 as a program is looking forward to getting on-court and start to prepare for what is shaping up as an exciting 2016.
"After having a large turnover or person-al, both in players and coaches, I'm really looking forward to getting on the court with the new group and starting our 2016 campaign. I'm really excited to play under Grant Wallace, especially after witnessing the success he has had in his past." McInnes said.
Equally excited was Head Coach Grant Wallace said Mike is a great fit for the culture the Blues are trying to build in their SEABL program.
"Mike has a great love of our Club and possesses the perfect work ethic, experience and game awareness to lead our young group of players to en-sure sustained success for years to follow.
"He is a wonderful ambassador for Frankston Blues Basketball in our community and I am enjoying working with him in our SEABL Season 2016 preparation." Wallace said.
Frankston Blues High Performance Manager Steve Blackley believes the lack of success in 2015 and the growth of McInnes as a leader will underpin the success of the SEABL Blues men’s pro-gram in 2016 saying “we look forward to Mike continuing his development as a leader both on and off the court.
"What he went through with a tough year on the court will help him long term to become a better leader for our juniors coming through."
